Look for the 'Heart Rate Ceiling'—if you're pushing hard but your heart rate won't go above 150 bpm when your max is 180, your body is protecting itself. If you also have trouble sleeping or feel unusually moody, you've crossed the line into overtraining. Try this: take a full 'Block Zero' week with only very easy, 30-minute spins to reset.
